2016 Global AIPLA Networking Event – Celebrate Women in IP!

An encore for this very successful AIPLA networking event from 2015, hosted again at Awapatent in Copenhagen, to celebrate women working in IP (Intellectual Property) around the world. NOT FOR WOMEN ONLY!

We had about 40 participants this year, and heard from Queue-it’s CCO and Co-founder, Camilla Ley Valentin.  See some of what she inspired us with here.

For her role in Queue-it, Camilla received the Danish Female Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2012 – as the first IT woman in the history of the award. She has since been announced as one of the fifty most inspiring women in European tech by Inspiring Fifty. Supplementing her role as CCO at Queue-it, Camilla holds several board and advisory board positions with other technology companies. Camilla is an active member of the technology and entrepreneurial community and a frequent speaker at various industry events and shows.

At this event, Camilla inspired those of us who work in traditional companies with what she’s learned from running a start-up digital company without the legacy of any historic processes.

She covered topics including:

  • how to lead the “Born Digital” generation
  • how to get value from age diversity as well as cultural diversity
  • implications of trends in the tech arena, that can inspire those of us who don’t work directly in technology
  • personal social media strategy for professionals

The event was for IP specialists, in-house counsel, outside counsel, patent attorneys, paralegals, inventors as well as people who work with any aspect of IP.  It was a great evening of networking, inspiration and good food, with a chance to establish and strengthen relationships with others working in IP.  The event took place all over the world at the same time, and part of the session included an audio-link-up with some of the other sites, to allow us to network globally as well.
